Monte Vista’s first brewery!
Draftsman Beer Company is owned and operated by Ryan Martz. Ryan was born and raised in the San Luis Valley. After attending college in Colorado Springs, Colorado he started his career as a drafter, designing and drafting parts in AutoCad for coal trains. Shortly after he started working on a government contract drafting and designing equipment for Missile Defense and Deep Space Surveillance programs. During that time, he fell in love with craft beer and started homebrewing. He joined the local homebrew club and entered homebrew competitions. While winning medals and perfecting his skill and recipes he became a Certified Beer Judge through the Beer Judge Certificate Program and became a Certified Cicerone.
Since 2020 Ryan has been working from home and decided to move back to the San Luis Valley and take his brewing to the next level so he opened Draftsman Beer Company in Monte Vista, Colorado.
